So far , we have learnt that Rikki Tikki plans to attack Nag on its head above the hood. He waits for an opportunity to attack Nag. Let's see what happens next........???
Let's start reading the last paragraph given on page 20
Explanation:Rikki Tikki watched Nag as the cobra drank from the water jar and waited till he fell asleep. Then he jumped and bit him on his head above the hood. He used all his strength to hold down the head. Then Nag was battered(beaten) to an fro like a rat shaken by a dog.- back and forth on the floor, up and down , and around in great circles. His eyes were red but he held on even as his body was cart-whipped (beaten with a strap or a cord) over the floor. Suddenly, a hot wind knocked down Nag and red fire burnt his fur. The big man had been wakened up by the noise and had fired both barrels of a shotgun into Nag.
Rikki Tikki was surprised to see that Nag was finally dead. The big man was happy to see that Rikki Tikki was loyal to the family and had saved their life.
