IRREGULAR VERBS PART 1

We're already familiar with verbs. A verb is a main part of speech that is often used to describe or indicate an action. Sentences are not complete without a verb. Here are some examples: jog, stop, hear, call, explore and believe.

Today, we will learn about irregular verbs. A lot of verbs have unusual forms. Such verbs are called 'irregular verbs'.

Regular verbs are verbs that can be put in the past tense simply by adding '-ed' to the end such as roll- rolled, walk- walked, dance- danced.

Irregular verb- A verb in which the past tense is not formed by adding the usual -ed ending. Examples of irregular verbs are sing (past tense sang); feel (felt); go (went) etc.

Some of the commonest verbs are irregular verbs.
